Need Gum Gone? Chewing gum removal can be a sticky business, whether it is on your concrete, parking lot or on the side of a building, chewing gum eventually changes into a smudge on concrete. But before then, pedestrians and clients walking into a business will step on the gum and get it in all over your carpets and mats. Then it is forced deep into the carpet fibers and into the porous surface of concrete or asphalt, just waiting for someone to step in it again, to carry it somewhere else in your building.
We are happy to provide gum removal as one of our commercial pressure washing services in Coral Springs FL. Find information on our service below:
The best methods of removing chewing gum from concrete usually depends on the gum’s age and level of penetration into the concrete surface. If the chewing gum was left not long ago and it has not penetrated the surface yet, we are sometimes able to remove it by covering it with ice until the gum freezes, then scraping it off with a metal putty knife.
The ice forces the gum to freeze into a workable consistency compared to a gooey and sticky glob. Once that happens, we slide a putty knife or scraper directly under the gum. Then we move the scraper very slowly beneath the gum and the entire piece should then peel right off the concrete.
The above method is only possible with brand new gum.
When we remove gum that has turned black, or is already smashed down into the concrete surface, we use a hot water pressure washer with the heat turned up to 200 Degrees in order to melt the gum. For this type of gum removal, we don’t use high pressure because that could damage the surface of the concrete!
Our pressure washers never uses any more pressure than necessary to clean commercial concrete. These surfaces can be damaged a lot easier than most people think, especially if they’re only a few years old. Concrete can take up to 100 years to cure completely. That is why we always use hot water and the least amount of pressure possible for our professional chewing gum removal service.
To remove chewing gum from sidewalks and other commercial surfaces we use custom designed hot water pressure washing tools and professional-grade soaps and detergents that enable us to effectively clean the concrete without leading to any damages.
Using special 200 degree hot water pressure washers and low pressure, we can safely remove chewing gum and surface dirt while protecting the surface. Our method will also destroy bacteria and viruses that sometimes found in gum.
